How 'Krisha' Became a Family Affair; Super Host Steve Harvey
Krisha Fairchild left LA in the 1980’s when her acting career failed to launch. Thirty years later, her nephew wrote and directed a film and cast her in the title role. Now, she's finally having her Hollywood moment. And Steve Harvey tells us how he's fought back against network execs who wanted to pigeonhole him in "black TV."
Krisha Fairchild trained to be an actress and came to LA with an indie already in the can. But once she got to Hollywood, the jobs didn't land. She left for Seattle and became a voice-over actress. Two years ago she retired to Mexico. Then, her nephew wrote a movie and called her up. Fairchild tells us about landing the title role in Krisha, a breakout film that has her back in LA, this time in her 60's. Plus, Steve Harvey shares what was going through his head during the Miss Universe debacle, and how he knew NBC's Little Big Shots would be a hit the moment they started taping.
