- The Sundance record-breaker The Birth of Nation opens this weekend. In the lead-up to the 2,100-theater roll-out, director and star Nate Parker has been doing press about his past, but his refusal to show remorse over the fallout from the rape he was accused and acquitted of is not doing him or his film any favors.
- The small, luxury movie theater chain iPic has said they will break with tradition and carry Netflix films in their theaters the same day the films are available to stream online. This makes other theater chains super upset.
