In July 2016, more than a year before the #MeToo movement began, Gretchen Carlson made a bold decision to sue Fox News chief Roger Ailes for sexual harassment. Now she’s made it her mission to end nondisclosure agreements (NDAs) that muzzle people who sue over misconduct.
Carlson signed such an NDA when she settled her lawsuit. She’s been watching herself portrayed in the miniseries “The Loudest Voice” and in the movie “Bombshell” -- without being able to consult on or comment about either project.
Carlson has turned her NDA-related anger into action, creating the initiative Lift Our Voices with Julie Roginsky, a Fox News contributor who also sued Roger Ailes in 2017.
Roginsky and Carlson tell us how they’re working to end mandatory NDAs in settlements of lawsuits involving alleged sexual harassment and misconduct.
