The Guys on the Wall

Cap Perkins was kind of a legend in Avalon. He would sit on the bench “on the wall” by the pier in the center of town a place he referred to as his “office”. Others would join him and they would meet there every morning to talk and joke and connect with their fellow islanders. Cap passed away a few years back, but the group rallied to keep the tradition going. Their sense of humor makes them sound like teenagers, but the oldest in the group is 93 years old. Also, as Vern says, there’s nothing they wouldn’t do for each other. That’s the way it is.
