For over a decade, Poseidon Resources has tried to get approval to build a desalination plant in Huntington Beach. Its plan has been opposed by state commissions, politicians, and residents, who cite environmental and cost concerns — and still, Poseidon tries, arguing that Southern California will need its water in the very near future due to increasingly declining supplies from the Colorado River and local reservoirs. Does the company have a point, or should we just continue to steal water from Arizona and Mexico?
