The Great OC Gun Rush

Gustavo Arellano on how a change in gun laws is spurning major interest in concealed-carry weapon permits.

Last week, the Orange County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a request by OC Sheriff Sandra Hutchens to spend more than a million dollars to expedite the application process for concealed weapons permits. This comes on the heels of a recent 9th District Court of Appeals decision that rolled back limits on CCW permits. While other sheriff's departments and DA offices across the country are taking a wait-and-see approach, Sheriff Hutchens and the supes are diving right in. Obviously, OC has long been pro-gun rights, but what else might be at stake here?
