Over the past 15 years, scores of Middle Eastern restaurants, hookah lounges, fashion stores and business have opened up on Anaheim's stretch of Brookhurst Street, anchoring one of the largest Middle Eastern communities in the United States. The area is informally known as Little Arabia, and in the past year, activists have made moves to have the area officially designated as such by city officials. It would be only the third such ethnic enclave in Orange County, an area whose politicians have long been suspicious of such municipal recognition. Will Little Arabia's supporters have their say?
