Ask Three Times

The only business I really know anything serious about – and I've said this before, but it bears repeating – is the entertainment business. And though people in this business like to think of it as singularly zany and unique, mostly what I hear from people not in the business when I tell them my little stories about the business, you know: script notes, production mistakes, lunch conversations among writers, and people talking past each other is, hey, that's just like it is in dentistry, or home finance, or auto repair, or artisanal cheese-making. Or whatever business that person is into. And by business I don't necessarily mean enterprise. I just mean whatever it is that a bunch of people are focused on, when they gather together in little clumps...
