LA Trees In Need of a Trim

If you’ve driven around Los Angeles recently, you may have noticed that a lot of the trees are in desperate need of a trim.

If you’ve driven around Los Angeles recently, you may have noticed that a lot of the trees are in desperate need of a trim. A lot of them were planted nearly a decade ago, in a burst of urban planting. But the city laid off dozens of tree trimmers during the recession, and now city officials are struggling to keep the trees in shape. LA Observed editor Kevin Roderick talks to KCRW's Steve Chiotakis about the need to prune LA's trees.
