Kim and John weigh in on what's been a lengthy and expensive Oscar campaign season. In terms of advertising dollars spent in magazines and newspapers touting nominees and trying to woo voters more money has been spent than in all prior years. They also talk about the Academy's big play to bring younger audiences to the telecast by appointing Seth MacFarlane as this year's host of the ceremony. Still, they wonder whether younger viewers will watch given that the show will feature a segment honoring musicals and another including Barbara Streisand.
