Aereo Has Moguls Up in Arms

Aereo is a start-up company with technology that effectively allows subscribers to stream broadcast TV over the Internet without paying fees to to the networks. The broadcasters have accused Aereo of copyright infringement, but a court in New York has determined that claim is unfounded. As a result, this week Chase Carey, the COO of Newscorp, has threatened that if the New York ruling becomes the law of the land he would take the Fox network off of broadcast TV and make it a cable channel. Univision's Haim Saban made similar threats. As of now, Aereo is only available in New York and a there is a brewing legal battle afoot.
