I’d like to tell you two things about the show I host, Left, Right & Center: its existence is more important now than ever. And your support is what helps the show survive and thrive.
I took over hosting full-time in 2022, after a near decade-long run in the host chair at NPR’s Morning Edition. In my final years in that job, I had an up close view of our nation’s poisonous politics. We don’t listen to each other anymore. We don’t create space for one another. We are no longer open to alternative points of view. We rarely ask questions of someone in an effort to test our own positions and logic and grow as humans. We just… dig… in.
We need safe spaces to dive into hard conversations, in which you may disagree with someone — but you do it respectfully. Our survival as a society depends on it. And Left, Right & Center is one of those rare spaces these days. That’s what I try to create in each and every show. And I am grateful for your support and willingness to serve that mission alongside me.
