As a born-and-raised Angelena, KCRW has been a beacon of ideas and inspiration my whole life. My fellow LA kid-friends and I always talk about how KCRW made us cool. (Though you can be the judge of that!) I started making podcasts because of the weird and wonderful things I knew audio could be. How it can connect us when we feel lonely. How we can feel so deeply attached to a host or a DJ. Or how traffic stress melts away when someone tells a great joke that feels like a friend called to cheer us up.
As part of the podcast team here at KCRW, I am inspired every day by our members, and think first and foremost about what will make your downtime or stressful hours feel a little more joyful, a little more grounded, and a little more fun.
This fall and early next year you’re going to see that spirit in action: We’re tackling your questions about the climate, how to navigate dating and relationships, and showcasing the sounds and stories of LA’s most notorious music scenes — from South LA to the Sunset Strip.
