Nicholas Burns is a professor of the practice of diplomacy and international politics at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government. He served as an adviser to Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign.

From 2005-2008 Burns served as undersecretary of state for political affairs, and from 1997-2001 as US ambassador to US ambassador to NATO and Greece.
